Birdhouse - Scrapbook Sinners

Hi All,

Last post for today, as I have to complete my Febraury ATC swaps and have them in the mail by tomorrow. This is short and sweet, just thought I would share a lovely little project that we created in a class on Friday at Scrapbook Sinners. It was very quick and not too difficult to make. If you want more info you can leave a comment, or contact me or visit the Scrapbook Sinners new blog http://scrapbooksinners.blogspot.com.au/ and leave them some love.

Thanks for visiting. Remember if you have any questions, please leave a comment or email me, only to happy to chat.

This weeks purchases

Back again,

Just thought I would share my purchases this week. I was so excited and surprised when my new Cricut - Expression 2 arrived on Tuesday morning. I purchased it from Mandy at www.scrappy-go-lucky.com.au , their service is amazing and postage costs are reasonable and delivery so speedy. Thanks again Mandy. But I have been so busy this week that I haven't had time to take it out of its box, until today, and so far I have only tested to make sure it is working. I will need more time to read up and play with it.

I also bought a Zutter Bind.it.all. My good friend Robyn www.cricut-lover.com had one at the retreat we were at in November, and as I love mini albums I knew it wouldn't be to long before I gave in and got one of these.

My new toys

My Scrappy friend Robyn (not my work friend) picked up some shabby birdcages while on holidays recently, I got two:

A white one,
and a brown one.

You should check out Robyn's blog http://www.cricut-lover.com/ to see what she did with hers. It is beautiful.

Bye for now

Voyager Album

Hi everyone, I am so glad it is Sunday. I have had such a busy week and cannot believe Sunday is nearly over. I have a few things to show this week, the first is the mini album I have mentioned in earlier posts. This is one I made for a very good friend and her husband. I have worked with Robyn for the last 14 years and she finished up on Friday, to take a well earned holiday on her beautiful big boat.

The boat was the inspiration for this album, I have been planning it for so long, but left it to the last minute (as usual) to put it together. I wanted it to look old, like an old ships log, but I got a bit carried away. Trying to get it finished this week meant a few nights with very little sleep, but it was so worth it. Going to miss you so much my friend.

As I was transferring the photos to my computer I decided to call this album Voyager. It is an envelope mini although it is rather large at 61/2 inches x 9 inches. I used manilla A4 envelopes (thanks sis) and cut them in half. The spine is from the fabulous Laura Denison http://www.followingthepapertrail.com/, it is her "stack the deck" spine easy and strong. The covers are just chipboard covered in Kaisercraft cardstock which I sanded, I covered the spine with sticky back canvas and inked it with Tim Holtz(who else) walnut stain distress ink.

I made tags to go inside the open ends of the envelope pages and added mats and journal spots.
Except for one tag where, as I said I got carried away.

Dory is the good luck charm on the boat, so even though it didn't fit with the album theme, I knew it needed to be in there.

Sorry for the long post. If you stayed to the end, Thanks.

Cheers

Cricut Anonymous @ Scrapbook Sinners

Monday the 20th February is Cricut Anonymous night, at Scrapbook Sinners in Traralgon. For this week we were asked to make something and bring it along.

Again I had to resort to cuts made previously, so I used a card base made from Art Philosophy, added a stamped image from Magnolia, which I coloured with Copics and added a sentiment. Again I have kept this very simple.

Still have lots to do this week, will be back with more next Sunday.

Cheers

Strut your Cuts Weeks 7

Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a great week. My entry for week 7 is a very simple card. I didn't enter last week as I have sold my cricut and waiting for my new Expression 2 to arrive. For this week's challenge, I didn't have any of the listed carts so I found a cut of THANKS that I made from George prior to sending it off to its new home with my cricut. The challenge for me was to try and keep the card simple as I loooovvvve lots of embellishments.

This is so not me this card, no flowers, no glitter glue. I embossed the THANKS with the small dots folder in my cuttlebug, added a couple of brads, a rub on and a small butterfly.

Hopefully I will have one of the carts for week 8, as well as a cricut to cut with.

Thanks for visiting, bye for now.

Robyn's Journal

Hi all,

This is a journal I made for a work collegue, who is leaving for a sea change literally. The base of this is just a spiral bound hardcovered notebook. The kind you can get for around $2.00 in the reject shop. I carefully took it apart, and covered the back and front covers with a lovely text paper by Kaisercraft, then I re-assembled it. To decorate the front I used some of the Tim Holtz metal corners, a door knob and key plate. Lots of pretty ribbons on the spine and a charm, then just flowers, leaves and some bling to make it girly.

I also made the sample card from the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge and stamp set as it is the same friends birthday this week.

That's all from me for today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Baby Boy(s) Card

Hi all, Sorry I don't have an entry for week 6 of Strut you Cuts. This last week has just passed me by. I did have some things that I had to finish and one is a card I made for a lovely young lady I work, with who gave birth to twin boys this week. Congrats Shelley.

The basics for this card came from Enfys over at Going Buggy It is a double pocket card made out of one sheet of 12 x 12 double sided paper. I decorated it with some navy velvet ribbon, some spotted washi tape, and some trinkets. The stamp is from my Art Philosophy stamp set an the paper is from Kaisercraft. I made some tags, added some twine that I purchased at Scrapbook Sinners in Traralgon.

Card without the Tags looks like this:

I made some elements from another sheet of paper into tags:

and inside the card I just added another tag element:

Thanks for visiting, if you like my card please leave a comment. I have another project that I have completed and will add that to the blog tonight, so call back later to check it out.

Bye for now

Strut your cuts - Week 5

Hi all. For my week five entry I have made a 12 x 12 layout. I did not have any of the 5 listed carts, so I used Cricut Essentials (which was given to me by the lovely Leonie from Scrapbook Sinners in Traralgon).

I cut large flowers at 5" and fit these behind my matted photos, then I cut stems (which are hard to see in the photo) and smaller flowers to make the flower garden. The small butterflys where punched from stampin up punch and the large from a Martha Sterwart punch. I added some Kindy Glitz to sparkle things up bit, I really enjoyed doing this layout.

The two fairies in the photo's are my beautiful grandaughters, and its hard to believe they will be 10 this year.

Thanks for stopping by. I am hoping to complete some of the things I have been working on, will post as soon as I finish.

Cheers
